Product Review: RIp Curl Rubber Soul Surf Bootie
The first thing I am going to start with is that this is not a sponsored post. I love these and that is why I decided to write this. That being said, it's that time of year again. Along with winter and the holidays comes the time of year when surfers down in Southern California need to break out the booties. While I lived down here last year, I did not purchase any. I had decided to "tough it out". This year, I gave in and bought myself a pair. I have not regretted that decision for even one second.
I purchased the Rubber Soul Split Toe Booties by Rip Curl. The first thing I have to mention is the comfort. These felt like I was putting on a pair of nice comfortable socks. This is probably due to the fact that they are dipped in liquid neoprene as opposed to other types of booties. This was also really nice when it came to taking them off because they could be peeled off similar to socks.
Another great thing I liked about them was the warmth. They kept my feet nice and toasty. Granted the water temp was only about 57ยบ, but even after two hours my feet were not the least bit cold. A better test would be in colder water. I do plan on a trip more north in which I'll be trying these in water that is a little colder. That could be one drawback as these are only 3 mm thick.
Overall, these were a great choice and I am very happy with them. They keep my feet plenty warm while surfing. They are among the most comfortable things I now own that I wear on my feet. The durability is something that we will discover over time. And the plus is they are on the cheaper side of booties. If you are in the market, I do recommend these.
Note: These we recommend by the person working when I was looking for them. I got them from the "Rider Shack" in Venice, CA. This is not my first purchase from here. The people are really friendly and knowledgeable. Check them out if you're in the area of you can look of their site here.
